Hyderabad player sets a world record in the Ranji Trophy with a 147-ball triple-century and Rahane disappoints on Hyderabad team

In the Ranji Trophy, Tanmay Agarwal stunned the cricket world by hitting a triple century in just 147 balls. The target of Tanma’s run chase was Arunachal Pradesh. Hyderabad scored 529 runs for the loss of one wicket in 48 overs on the opening day, while Tanmay, who finished with 300 runs off 147 balls, remained undefeated with 323 runs off 160 balls. Abhirath Reddy was at the crease with Tanma on 19 runs when captain Rahul Singh Gehlot was removed for 185 runs off 105 balls.

Hyderabad’s run chase began after Arunachal Pradesh, who batted first, was all out for 172 runs. With this, Tanmay, 28, now holds the first-class cricket records for the second-fastest double century (in 119 balls) and triple century (in 147 balls). Tanmay broke the record set by Marco Marais of South Africa, who in 2017 made a triple century in just 191 balls while playing first-class cricket.

In addition, Tanmay broke the 39-year-old record for the fastest double century by an Indian player in current first-class cricket. In 119 balls, Tanmay reached his double century. Tanmay also owns the record for most sixes in an innings in Ranji with 21 in one. Tanmay beat Ishan Kishan’s record of fourteen sixes today. Tanmay and captain Rahul Singh put up 440 runs in 40 overs together at the first wicket.

Rahane was once again let down by Ajinkya, who is looking to make a comeback to the Indian team in a future game. When Mumbai batted first against Uttar Pradesh, Rahane was out for eight runs and Mumbai was bowled out for 198 runs.
