The New York Times was the first to disclose that Stewart was involved in editorial disagreements with Apple TV+ over his show "The Problem," and his remarks about why he returned to "The Daily Show" came just months after.

By the end of 2023, the number of viewers of "The Daily Show" had decreased by 75% from 2.2 million viewers every night to 570,000 viewers since the host left the program in 2015.

Starting this Monday at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central, the late-night talk program will premiere. The following day, episodes will be available on Paramount+
